This is the largest lavender farm in the Southern Hemisphere (and possibly the world) and blooms spectacularly in December and January each year. This is a working farm that produces nearly 1000 litres of perfume quality oil a year as well as its own lavender honey and receives over 50000 visitors a year.

(Sacramento) The Assembly Local Government Committee has approved water conservation legislation from Assemblymember Anna Caballero (D-Salinas). Assembly Bill 300 promotes greater water-use reductions in new subdivisions by encouraging voluntary water conservation measures in new homes built in California.
