The Cerrado of Brazil: Balancing Water, Conservation, and Development

The Brazilian savannah or cerrado is a semi-arid region of the South American interior. In the rugged, dry landscape are beautiful surprises — high waterfalls, moonscapes, and exotic plants that thrive on regular fires. Here, staff from WWF visit the water resources of the cerrado, talk about their threats and special qualities, and why this little-known region is so important to preserve for the future. From August 2009.
