Over 800 employees attended the event that featured green vendors who talked about energy & water conservation, transportation alternatives and healthy living. Silicon Segway provided free rides and Tesla Motors provided an all electric dream machine. Solar City, ReCurve, Ennovationz, Sigona’s Farmers Market and Sims Recycling were a few of the 23 vendors exhibiting.

PLANNING Minister Justin Madden is facing a legal challenge to his approval of taller turbines at a controversial South Gippsland wind farm. There are about 20 homes less than 1km away . Japanese company Mitsui is preparing to build the 52 turbine Bald Hills Wind Farm 10km south east of Tarwin Lower.. Premier John Brumby and Environment Minister Gavin Jennings accused the Coalition of spruiking “anti renewable energy” policies that jeopardised “billions of dollars of investment in wind farms and thousands of jobs”. Turbines aren’t welcome in your area , South Gippsland has a desalination plant and now more wind farms thanks Planning Minister Windfarms are noisy neighbours. No one wants them anywhere near their home.The brumby governement has done nothing to help rural people having these developments put to close to their homes and farms

In sustainable energy news, Formosa (Taiwan) converts fish farms to a viable solar energy business. To help reconstruction and promote development in areas affected by the 2009 Typhoon Morakot, The Honorable Magistrate Tsao Chi-Hung of Pingtung County introduced the water conservation and sustainable power generation plan. It involves the former fish farmers renting out their space to Apollo New Energy Corporation, which produces solar energy. Then, the government of the county helps to sell that sustainable energy to Taiwan Power Company, which is operated by the Formosan government.
