Biblical-scale locust plague threatens Aussie crop
An area of farmland the size of Spain could be destroyed by a swarm of locusts in Australia. . Follow us on twitter at twitter.com .

WTF. Nature can be cruel sometimes.
@Kinkspace Hey just outlaw all biblical names too . No more James and John and Mary’s… no more towns, cities, or street like St John’s N.B. lets call it Evolve or Darwin instead… LOL
@Kinkspace We can define it in two ways. Historian would prefer to acknowledge this event as behavior from the past that had been discovered or renamed in the present. How would you then classify another biblical phenomenon such as the parting of the Red Sea? Event such as that would be inconceivable to human mind that’s why we need historical reference to prove that many events of today existed even before. Scientist don’t remove the knowledge of the past. It is the foundation of our study.
They should get the nets out! Fried locusts taste pretty good, nutty and high in protein, low in fat
People eat prawns after all, why not a locust?
@KimInLosAngeles Austrailia is a big country.
@Kinkspace note to self, don’t use metaphors.
Remember, locust meat is kosher !
Did we really have to say biblical-scale?
2 choices, let those bugs eat the crops or poison the crops we will eat !
the area affected could be the size of Spain? o.O
@DamnControl2 The problem is too many live in the past they miss the present of today, time to catch up with the times, as unfamiliar and scary as that is to let go it is necessary for our species evolution. It is one thing to learn from the past, it is quite another to have it define by reference the present rather than what we know to be true today and apply this knowledge constructively.
Labels are walls that prevent us from seeing round corners.
@Kinkspace Because this event has firstly recorded 2 thousands years ago, even before Christ and even before modern science was even born.
2012
@oliverscott2007 The problem here is I am an atheist and find the analogy inappropriate from a news broadcaster when more up to date scientific analogies are available. Sensationalism based on myth is not appropriate for impartial news reporting in todays world unless your aiming demographically to endorse Christian belief structures.
Lol! the plague the dead
@Kinkspace
Biblical is often used as a way of putting fourth a monumental scale. I think the ‘biblical-scale’ phrase is just getting across how massive this locust issue is. In this case, it could also be compared to the Locus plague as told in Exodus. So there’s a comparison element as well.
I doubt ITN are trying to suggest that this has any relation to the bible, other than by means of comparison and magnitude.
blarp blarp blarp religion comment war. But seriously though, thoughts and prayers for the people of Australia. I can’t imagine what this will do to the cost of food.
@warrioroneultimate7 ITN is a news channel, they have a responsibility to inform, unless they are going the American rout of entertainment.
To my knowledge there is no evidence to support prophecies beyond the usual scientific approach of probability in climate/environment change. Can you support your claim?
News should not about belief, it is about good old fashion impartial information.
@Kinkspace
Who are you to tell this person what to do? Because you think it’s a myth means we have to think it’s a myth?
Get real wierdo and stop telling people what to do
Really ITN there are enough prophecy nutters out there without you fueling any suggesting this has any connection to the bible. Why not link the report to science of why re climate and Eco system, rather than preferring innuendo of myth?
Lol
