You can fix leaks up top by using a repair kit, or by replacing the cartridge or ball. If you find leaks underneath your sink, the pipes, fittings, and hoses probably need to be tightened or replaced. Be sure to turn off the water supply to make repairs. A dishwasher that is ENERGY STAR Qualified can wash the dishes using less water. Scrap the dishes instead of rinsing them, and only run the dishwasher when it’s full. When washing vegetables, place a basin in the bottom of the sink to catch the water. Reuse that water to water your plants or garden. Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge so you do not have to run the tap until the water gets cold. Laundry Room: High efficiency washers use less water and heat less water, saving you energy, water and money. Bathroom: Turn off the water when you’re brushing your teeth or shaving. Use a cup of water to rinse your razor. Consider installing a water-saving aerator or switch to an EPA WaterSense faucet. Switch to a WaterSense certified showerhead and turn off the water when shampooing. If you have kids in the house, limit shower time to a few songs on the radio. Check your toilet for leaks.
